Why Vote NO on 8?

Massachusetts voters will decide Question 8 this November. A YES vote would repeal the laws that currently allow, regulate, and tax adult-use cannabis retail sales in Massachusetts. A NO vote keeps the current regulated adult-use framework in place.

For House Premium Cannabis, this vote is about protecting legal access for adults 21+, Massachusetts jobs, local and state revenue, and a regulated system built around testing, labeling, age verification, and compliance.

The proposal would not simply "ban marijuana." Under the official summary, it would end the legal retail adult-use market, change the amount adults may legally possess, eliminate the current adult-use home cultivation framework, and narrow the Cannabis Control Commission's role to the medical market.

The proposed law would take effect January 1, 2028 if approved. That is why House Premium Cannabis is asking Massachusetts voters to learn what Question 8 does and vote NO.
